Activities
Culinary Arts
Put on your chef’s hat and step into the kitchen where we turn the bounty of the land into delicious dishes and farm-to-table feasts! In our culinary arts center and bakery, campers work alongside experienced chefs to develop their cooking skills and prepare delicacies to share with the rest of the camp community. Special areas of focus include breads and pastries, cheeses, bountiful salads, soups and broths, dips, vegan entrees, and desserts. All of the food we prepare and eat at camp is 100% organic, 100% kosher, 100% of the time.
Organic Farming
Get your hands dirty and your heart full as you dive into the world of organic farming! At our farm, campers work alongside skilled farmers to learn about sustainable growing practices, soil health, composting, and the care of our animal friends. Whether you’re planting seeds, harvesting fresh produce, or collecting eggs from our free-range chickens, you’ll experience the joy of cultivating the land and contributing to our camp’s farm-to-table meals. With every weed pulled and vegetable picked, you’ll connect deeply to the earth and gain a new appreciation for where your food comes from.
Wilderness Skills
Gather round in the forest and immerse yourself in the wisdom of the trees. In the Forest Village, campers safely build and tend fire, create shelters, tell stories, make their own bows and arrows, track animals, carve spoons and bowls, find wild edible plants, and more. Campers who choose to spend time in Forest Village will laugh, play, and explore, while they gain new skills, grow their self-confidence, and develop a profound feeling of kinship with the natural world.
Herbalism
You’re invited into a magical world of healing and friendship in our herbal apothecary! Immerse yourself in the wisdom of the plants under the guidance of expert mentors as you learn to identify, harvest, prepare, and use our herbal plant friends! Our campers love making health-boosting tinctures, soothing salves, delicious syrups, fragrant teas, healing poultices and more as we boost our DIY skills and gain a foundation in botany and herbal remedies.
Aquatics: River + Pool
Eden Village West is nestled on a breathtaking 350-acre campus, featuring several miles of private river frontage along the Russian River and a sparkling swimming pool for campers to enjoy.
Under the careful supervision of our lifeguards, campers explore the river through swimming, tubing, raft-making, and splashing adventures. At the pool, they dive into fun with swim lessons, water games, and free swim sessions. We also offer occasional specialty classes like synchronized swimming, Jr. Lifeguarding, and water aerobics, providing opportunities to develop new skills and build confidence in the water.
Whether you’re floating down the river, perfecting your stroke in the pool, or just enjoying a splash with friends, there’s no shortage of water-filled joy and excitement!
Archery
Draw, aim, release! There is something deeply satisfying about the ancient art of archery. At Eden Village West, campers use modern bows and arrows to develop precision and focus, while also exploring how archery can be a powerful mindfulness practice. As they draw their bows, campers learn to slow down, set an intention, and find balance in the moment.
We keep things exciting with creative games like shooting at fruit, homemade targets, and other fun challenges that build both skill and confidence. Whether hitting the bullseye or learning to try again after a miss, archery teaches valuable lessons about patience, perseverance, and staying present.
Crafting
Get creative in our art studio! Our campers tinker, experiment, and come home with their own jewelry, clothing, candles and Judaica. Our campers learn how to craft from the natural world around them, making beeswax candles, spinning their own yarn from fresh wool, and digging clay from the river. You can learn to knit, sew, crochet, make natural dyes and mosaics, paint murals, and much more.
Music
There’s no canned music at Eden Village, which makes space for our rich live music culture. Campers immerse themselves in the joy of live music through guitar and ukulele lessons, songwriting workshops, drum circles, and vibrant song sessions.
One of the highlights of our music program is the chance to join jam band, where campers regularly come together to learn or create their favorite songs and perform them in front of the camp community. These performances are a celebration of creativity, collaboration, and the confidence that comes from sharing your passion with others. We come home from camp with music in our hearts, in our fingertips, and unforgettable memories of making and sharing music together.
Pottery
With a mix of hand-building and throwing on our pottery wheels, campers in the pottery studio make all sorts of beautiful projects. Everything from cups and bowls to candlestick holders and leaf prints to free-form sculpture and more!
Woodworking
Our woodworking shop is a fully equipped program space with hand tools, machine tools, work benches, and plenty of space for exploration, solid design, and creativity. Campers learn shop safety and tool technique, and create drums, flutes, benches, stools, and more from a variety of materials!
Circus Arts + Theatre
Step into the spotlight with our vibrant Circus Arts + Theatre program! Campers use theater games, improv techniques, costumes, and storytelling to grow in confident self-expression and bring their creativity to life.
In addition to traditional theater, we dive into the fun of circus arts—learning skills like juggling, clowning, and other playful performance techniques. Campers collaborate to create unique performances for our beloved Torah Theatre, a highlight of Shabbat services every Saturday. These performances bring the weekly Torah portion to life in imaginative, engaging ways that delight and inspire the whole camp community.
Mindful Movement + Sports
At Eden Village West, we believe movement is about joy, connection, and mindfulness. Through activities like soccer, basketball, volleyball, frisbee, and yoga, campers have opportunities to stay active in a non-competitive, supportive environment that emphasizes fun and personal growth.
Our Mindful Movement program also includes activities that nurture both body and mind, such as tai chi, guided hikes, and meditation in nature. Whether running on the field, flowing through yoga poses, or finding stillness in the forest, campers explore movement as a way to build strength, focus, and a deeper connection to themselves and the world around them.
